Planetary Health News
Strengthening community and restoring the health of our planet.
Planetary Health News is a collaboration between Blue Mountains City Council’s Planetary Health Centre and Environmental Trust, and all sectors of the community, to provide trustworthy and constructive solutions-focused news to strengthen communities and restore the health of our planet.
It is not-for-profit and has grown from our hyperlocal news services in each neighbourhood, demonstrating how communities are working together to create the local actions and news we need, and how many positive actions at a local level can combine to create global change and global news.
The stories we share focus on what people in our communities are actually doing, not what they could or should do. We are keen to celebrate what we have achieved, and learn from each other how best to move forward together.
We welcome stories from every sector in communities around the world that demonstrate how we are creating a better future socially, economically and environmentally, including a better future for all species.
By building strong social connections, and sharing solutions for the common good, we can collaboratively reduce the risk of future extreme natural or social events becoming disasters.
By sharing stories from all sectors of the community, we hope to increase wildcard networking and cross-sector dialogues, thereby encouraging more cross-sector collaborations.
Through the stories we tell we are supporting communities to tackle the complex challenges we are all facing.
